HAPPY ENDINGS NURSING HOME (Hart) Happy endings Nursing home Slowly rotting in our leather jackets All of our hands in each other’s pockets So we won’t float away Happy endings Nursing home What could be more innocent than decay? Senile for a while now Every minute is like a brand new day Happy endings Nursing home We’re not trying to hold on to our youth We’re fighting to defy it, nail and tooth It nearly killed us Over and over again Happy endings Nursing home Our honeys couldn’t quite take care of us The attempts from our parents were a bust So where else would we go? We are our own nurses Giving the cure for our disguise While we make mosaics From the shards of our shattered lives But the real fun begins When we must turn off our flashlights Drinking all our milk at midnight! HAPPY ENDINGS NURSING HOME AND TONIGHT WE GATHER ON THE ROOF HAPPY ENDINGS NURSING HOME OH WE COULD HAVE ALL JUST DIED (WE KIND OF DID INSIDE) BUT TONIGHT, LET’S SURVIVE! TO HELL WITH OUR YOUTH!!!

I HAVE NO MOUTH (Hart) Wrong kind of breathless, breathless The way you took my voice away from me All the time reckless, reckless Emotionally suffocating When you touch me I arch my back like an agitated cat Still you want to be with me forever like a damn vampire bat But who will you be kissing all that time Considering… I have no mouth and I must scream? And I just dread this, dread this Trapped in a reoccurring crime scene I feel like I’m headless, headless The victim and the one witnessing And you’ve got the luxury to claim whatever alibi Adding insult to injury, denying my chance to reply My silence giving you the false green light To force yourself onto me I have no mouth and I must scream!

TIME IN THE VOID (Hart) There you work on your next masterpiece In your masterbatorium Tell me, whose palms to I have to grease To cease shadowboxing with boredom? All I see is your back turned to me Drooling all over your papers Am I still the muse of your destiny? Have I been demoted to your neighbor? The clock keeps turning and its scaring me The candle burning for you, selfishly While I feel shadows falling over me But where can I fall? Too much time in the void (x2) Come back to earth (x3) Too much time in the void (x2) We’ve got to work (x3)

about

SIRENS IN THE NIGHT is a daring new detour of sound with menacing and cathartic impulsions, featuring vital members of JAIL WEDDINGS. Their sound has been described as “convulsive,” “writhing,” and then there’s the most mysterious tag of “shattering opium snow globe.”

SIRENS IN THE NIGHT combines the manic, street cornered elements of the SHANGRI-LAS, THE GORIES, SUICIDE, BLONDIE, and ROWLAND S. HOWARD. They bring JAIL WEDDINGS fringe 60s girl group elements into focus, but through a dystopian, futurist lens. Mary Animaux (JAIL WEDDINGS, WHITE MURDER) now errantly strides to the forefront, with Rachael Ann (BIRD OF PARADISE) in tow as the outspoken mouthpieces of the group. The irregular heartbeat of the gang GABRIEL HART gags on a vow of silence behind his KORG MS-20 synthesizer in order to construct the group’s minimalist electro-punk cell. Seth Miller (JAIL WEDDINGS) moves to the guitar as his nail-file. Rufo Chan (MISS JUPITER) has jumped in on the drums to make some kind of order out of this riot, which, let’s be honest here – has quickly turned into a protest against themselves.
Dance on the shards, honey…

“Like the focus group for a new lemon-flavored Draino.”
